Getting Yourself and Your Family Moving
The weather has turned nice and I am inspired to get outside and get moving! For me this is the best time of year to get outside myself and with my family, once the pollen clears up that is!
Be a Good Example
As a Mom if you take the time to exercise and show you kids it is important then hopefully they will also see it as important. This is a great time to get outside and walk, bike or run. If you’ve been doing that add some variety by adding some intervals (such as 1 minute hard, 1 minute easy and repeat 4-6 times) to your activity. Always remember to include a warm-up and cool-down!
Make it a Family Event
If you can’t find time in the day to exercise alone be active with the kids. This can make that 30-60 minutes of exercise go by super fast! Use your imagination but some possible ideas are tag, jump rope, hula hooping (great for the abs), throwing a Frisbee, tennis and kickball. With it being light out later sometimes an after dinner walk or bike ride can be a fun way to connect as a family.
