My high point this week as a Tuesday night yoga class at Brightwater Yoga in Hendersonville. I got ready to go and was leaving the house and my daughter got really upset about me leaving. I gave her a hug and went anyways, but it was very hard to get out the door and I almost just stayed home. The teacher opened the class with the quote “Yoga is the state where nothing is missing.” by Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati. That just struck me and I really focused all my attention on being present for the class. We opened with 30 minutes of Sun Salutations and standing poses and then did inversions for about an hour with a long Shavasana at the end. Wow! It was amazing I felt so energized and positive when I left. When I got home my daughter was fast asleep. She fussed for awhile and then she and Johnny had a great time together.
Thursday I missed my workout. I had an unscheduled appointment, so I am going to move that workout to Sunday and made Thursday my day off.
I’ve gotten 8 hours of sleep on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I didn’t on Thursday. Thursday I got caught up in uploading my pictures to update my photo albums. And I really notice the difference in my mindset when I don’t get enough sleep. It is much harder to stay focused when I don’t get enough sleep.
This week I am reminded of the importance of taking time for yourself and the need to be flexible.
I hope you all have a great Fourth of July, I’ll continue striving to get my workouts in during the busy summer season.
Live Well,
Laura
