Will I be ready for the holidays?

If like me, you have been a victim of a winter snow storm you may feel like you aren’t going to be ready for the holidays.  Friday and Saturday we got 9 inches of snow here in Mills River, NC  and that has kept us at home for the past three days.

It would be easy to fret about missing holiday gatherings or let my mind fill with thoughts of all the things I need to get out and do.

A more positive mindset is to strive to be present and enjoy this gift of time at home with my family-playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate, watching holiday movies and visiting with neighbors.  This rare opportunity to slow down has been a great reminder to live in the moment.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with holiday activities try a day or two of being ”stuck” at home to connect with your family and remind yourself of what you value most.

Mindful Makeover for Moms

In January 2008, we had an idea to create a program to support  Moms on their wellness journey.  Since that time we’ve written a book and workbook, Mindful Makeover for Moms, and held our first 10 week class for Moms.

Currently we are in the process of self-publishing  Mindful Makeover for Moms to be completed in January 2010.

Our mission is to support  Moms on their wellness journey by empowering them to create a life focused on health and wellness for themselves and their families.  Our hope is to create a strong community of Moms that influences positive change in our homes, communities, and world.
