About Us
In January 2008, we had an idea to create a program to support Moms on their wellness journey. Since that time we’ve written a book and workbook, Mindful Makeover for Moms, and held our first 10 week class for Moms.
Our mission is to support Moms on their wellness journey by empowering them to create a life focused on health and wellness for themselves and their families. Our hope is to create a strong community of Moms that influences positive change in our homes, communities, and world.
I have a passion for wellness and enjoy teaching and encouraging others to reach their wellness goals. I have a Masters in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I enjoy a variety of fitness activities including running, walking, weight training, swimming, biking, yoga, and hiking.
After the birth of my daughter I realized the challenges that Moms face when incorporating wellness into their day. I wanted to help Moms find strategies to be more well in their lives and promote wellness for their families. Thus, Mindful Makeover Corporation was born. In addition to the body component of proper exercise and nutrition I believe that the essential component is the mind. You need to develop the proper mindset to reach your wellness goals. Our program promotes the use of goal setting, affirmations, a positive mindset, and mindful moments (meditation) to reach wellness goals.
I live in Mills River, NC with my husband and daughter. I am blessed with a wonderful family and friends. I love talking about wellness and sharing my passion with others.

3. I’ve done one marathon and have no plans to do another.

5. I was a summer camp counselor at Lutheridge for four summers.
6. One of my favorite foods is asparagus.
7. I love relaxing by the beach.
8. I love to read books and am in a book club.
9. Our family enjoys camping in a tent!
10. I am not good at relaxing.
11. If I could I would eat sushi daily.
12. I enjoy straightening up my house, but dislike cleaning.

15. I’ve hiked the Appalachian Trail through the state of Maine.
16. I enjoy planning and make a lot of lists.
17. I’ve been to Alaska and would like to go back.
18. My favorite color is purple.
19. I like to make my own yogurt.
20. I try and practice what I teach: to exercise, eat well, be nice to others, share, watch out for the environment, be a mindful and present, and enjoy all the moments life has to offer.
I have a love of love of language and am constantly amazed by the power of words. I earned a Masters degree in English from North Carolina State University and a Bachelors degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I enjoy laughing at corny jokes, running short dashes during long walks, and lifting weights during commercial breaks.
I live in Dallas, NC with my husband Phillip and dog, Pepper. I am grateful for the love and support of my family and friends.
